                               WHY DEEP YOGA?

WHAT DOES IS TAKE TO SEE TO ONE'S OWN DEPTHS... DEEPER THAN THOUGHT, DEEPER THAN MEMORY, DEEP THAN DREAMS, TO THE VERY END OF POSSIBILITY.

IT'S TRUE THAT WHAT'S SEEN DEPENDS ON THE VIEWER, AND THAT THE VIEWER CHANGES AS S/HE MOVES INTO THE DEEP. WHAT MIGHT BE SEEN AT THE DEEP AND WHO WOULD BE WATCHING THEN? AND WHEN THIS TURNS TOWARDS THE WORLD, WHAT WOULD BE SEEN?

A MYSTICAL PATH
As the popularity of Yoga increases, many persons having experienced its health benefits are now becoming curious about its more subtle, inner aspects. It’s becoming widely known that while Yoga enhances physical health and mental equanimity, its practice definitely aims for territory further afield. To its advanced practitioners, Yoga is a mystical path whose various methods enable a deep self-discovery.

GNOSTIC METHODS
Yoga aims to help the individual towards the highest possibility in the quest for wholeness, meaning and identity. Without these aims intact and without engaging its inner methods, the practice of Yoga misses out on fulfilling its potential for a radical, spiritual transformation of the individual. Yoga tells that a vast creative and healing power lies hidden at our depths and teaches gnostic methods to enable its direct knowing via deep self-experience. Throughout history, accomplished Yogins have attested that experiential identification (Samadhi) with this deep, hidden aspect of self leads to a profound freedom and happiness in everyday life and a living harmoniously with all beings on this beautiful Earth.

DEEP YOGA INTENSIVES
My teaching of Yoga is grounded in the core texts of Indian Yoga and Buddhism, working knowledge of the Indian-Yogic and Chinese-Taoist experience of body, breath and mind as well as long term, personal experience in the gnostic methods of these traditions. As a Naturopathic Doctor and Yoga/Meditation Teacher I have taught individuals and groups for over 15 years. In teaching Yoga philosophy and technique, I guide persons towards awareness of subtle, deep aspects of self experience, and together we explore the existential and practical implications of our discoveries. Deep Yoga is designed to give the participants an extended opportunity to explore the Yogic worldview while becoming experientially grounded in the process of inner exploration as framed in Yoga. If you have thought that there must be more to Yoga than muscle stretching, postural alignment, deep breathing or even calming the mind, you are quite correct... there is much, much more. Welcome to Deep Yoga...
